HND Surveyors assisted a client whose office premises had undergone significant expansion, prompting a reassessment by the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). We provided accurate updated measurements for the enlarged property and successfully identified areas that were previously misclassified. By correcting these inaccuracies, we were able to reduce the overall Rateable Value despite the property increasing in size by nearly 50%. Unlocking Small Business Rates Relief

HND Surveyors reviewed the assessment of a large retail premises that had been rated solely as a shop by the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). Our inspection revealed a newly created office area at the rear of the property that had not been reflected in the valuation. Following our intervention, the property was revalued and the Rateable Value (RV) fell below the Small Business Rates threshold. This correction meant our client had been overpaying since 2023 and was also entitled to additional local council support.
